Kathie Galvin

Kathie Galvin of Orleans, Massachusetts, died on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 73 years old.

Born in Boston to George and Carol Smith, Kathie grew up in Stoneham and later settled on Cape Cod, building a family home in Eastham. A devoted mother and grandmother, Kathie was remarkably resilient, humble, and sensitive. Her children, Bart and Isabel, were the great joy of her life.

Kathie led a singular life that did not lend itself to simple description. She was sentimental, charming and intelligent, with a wry sense of humor and a depth of feeling that was clearest to those who knew her best.

Kathie is survived by her children, Bart and Isabel (Mike Clancy); her grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin and Olivia; her sister, Karen; and her brothers, George and David. She was predeceased by her brother, Brad.
